Nuclear Weapons and Power

The Network has been opposed both to the possession of nuclear weapons and their use since its founding.  NIU physicists Henk Hoever and the late Al Meyer have been passionate leaders on these topics.  We also oppose the construction of new nuclear power stations in the US until the issue of radioactive waste disposal is addressed and solved in a manner that promotes safety and eliminates the risks of environmental damage in the future.
